By way of background , The HCQC Alumni Network(HCQCAN ) was established in 2018 with a view to collaborate on joint efforts in support of the two schools. It comprises the 4 chapters of the alumni associations in Barbados:
Old Harrisonian Society (OHS) , Queen’s College Association( QCA) ,
Canada : HCQCAA, Toronto
USA: HCQCAA. USA

Grantley Morris, an alumnus of Harrison College resident in Canada, and a member of our intergenerational Steering Committee, whose brainchild the production of this historical book is, has worked with the schools, historian Ralph Jemmott, as well as alumni to create this landmark limited edition collectible.

The book is much more than a collection of bios. It reveals histories of Harrison College and Queen’s College and their impacts, contains selected articles on the contributions of past students to their home country adopted country and/or the world and is full of motivational life stories. It is a true testament to the value of education.

We produced the publication as a fund raising tool for the Improvement Campaign which we launched in the context of the Virtual Grand Reunion which we held in 2021 under the patronage of the then Governor General, The Most Honourable Dame Sandra Mason, an alumna of Queen’s College.

The improvement Campaign aims to create or improve critical aspects of the infrastructure at both schools as follows:

Harrison College:

Construct on top of the existing Chemistry lab and equip

A Robotics lab
A food science lab

Queen’s College

—Contribute to equipping the Sports pavilion (constructed under the leadership of Give Back QC Charity )

—Upgrade:

The science lab(s)
The Hall (to enhance the performing arts programme )
